In this issue of the HiPEAC magazine, published to coinicide with May 2018 innovation-themed Computing Systems Week in Gothenburg, we speak to innovators of all kinds. TANGO on behalf of the Heterogeneity Alliance contributed to the magazine to promote latest activities of the initiative. Read more in the link below.

RAPID project has already released the final version of the RAPID Framework. The Framework is composed by a set of tools that allow to seamlessly offload compute or storage intensive tasks from low power devices to more powerful heterogeneous accelerators, supporting multiple virtual CPUs and GPUs.
RAPID introduces the concept of Acceleration as a Service opening the door to many new innovation opportunities for service providers.
TANGOToolbox is coming back with updated tools to simplify and optimize software for heterogeneous hardware. Beta version is here! TANGOtoolbox is the main outcome of TANGO project, and it is a set of modular, open and interoperable tools to design, model, develop and execute software in heterogeneous hardware architectures. The #TANGOtoolbox also allows the optimization of various dimensions of software design and operations such as energy efficiency, performance and dependability on target architectures.
We are glad to see that our Alliance is growing constantly by incorporating relevant projects and organizations in the context of Heterogeneity challenge. Currently 9 research projects and 4 academic and industrial institutions belong to the Alliance by providing their view, competences and tools to solve the numerous challenges in front of us. We expect to keep this growth in the future and especially after our joint first workshop at HIPEAC Conference 2018 where we will show to attendees our objectives and activities to engage more partners in this interesting journey!
HiPEAC was organizing the Autumn Computing Systems Week in Stuttgart, Germany, on October 25th-27th. TANGO Project was to talk with the community about the current activities of the project and the Heterogeneity Alliance. The workshop was attended by people working in related research areas and they could enjoy of TANGO tools and demos to simply and optimize heterogeneity. Presented material can be found here.
The members of Hetereogeneity Alliance have organized a workshop at HIPEAC conference in Manchester on 22nd January 2018. The workshop objective was to present the vision and activities of the Heterogeneity Alliance launched by several EU projects and coordinated for now by TANGO project. The workshop aims at engaging new members for the Alliance and to validate with HIPEAC community the initiative and the produced results so far. It was also a window for involved projects to present their latest results to the audience. The half day workshop was attended by around 40 people who showed a lot of interest in the initiative. All the presented material can be donwloaded from here.
